Questions About Video Production
How long will it take to make a video?
It all depends on the type of video it is. The needs of commercials and explainer videos can be very different, even more so when it comes to music videos. When we talk through the details in pre-production we will be able to better calculate an exact date. Our average turnaround time has us delivering our first cut within 3 weeks, often sooner, of when we finished filming the project. To get a good idea of how long your video will take, reach out to our team and we will happily figure out the details.
I need a video but I don’t know where to start, can you help?
We can definitely help! When we start a project, the first phase is pre-production. In that phase, if you have a broad idea of what you want but aren’t sure of how to get there we will work with you to determine what types of videos best meet your needs. We will then come up with compelling ideas and examples that make the project come to life.
Do you only make videos?
No we actually do a lot more than make videos, though video production has been historically our focus point, but we come from creative fields and have experience doing much more. Recently we’ve expanded to include quite a few more services: We provide artist/band management, photography services, social media content creation, and creative direction and consultation as needed. We also have staff members who are fluent in graphic design and extremely knowledgable in web design. We like to look at the full picture of what your needs are and then we jump in where we think we can best help. Let’s talk and figure out what works for you.
How much does it cost?
We work within your budget. Before we get started we will need to determine what that budget is and then we will write up a plan that fits based on your overall goals. We value transparency and we break down all costs in advance. Some of the key factors we consider in pricing are: How long or how many days will the shoot be? How many deliverable videos are we producing out of the content? Will it require a small or large film production crew?
Do you only work with certain types of clients?
The perfect client knows exactly what they want, gives us unlimited budget, let’s us do it our way, laughs at all our jokes, and then tells everyone in the world that we’re the greatest video production company that’s ever done the thing. So far we haven’t worked with anyone like that, but when we do it’s game over.
Over the years we have enjoyed the process of working with small businesses, indie filmmakers, educators, churches, hip-hop artists, festivals, events, large corporations, marketing agencies, consultants, and everything in between. There’s no reason to be picky, everyone wants to hire a good video team.
Why mecoclub?
Are you asking why did we name it that? If so, it’s because we wanted to start a media company but we also wanted to start a club. Plus, the domain was available.
If you’re asking why work with us, then we think you should consider what you’re looking for in a video production agency. We are a company that will not just partner with you but considers every ounce of our work as an opportunity to cultivate and create a better world. We consider ourselves blue-collar creatives. We don’t want to sit on the sidelines and talk, we want to put in the work and make something we are both proud of.
Are you willing to work with pre-existing footage?
Yes. There are numerous situations where we are asked to work with pre-existing or archival footage. Tell us about the project and we will come up with a solution that best suits your needs.
What kind of cameras do you shoot on?
There’s not one camera and lens that are perfect for every project, but we have a wide array of experience operating cameras such as: Arri Alexa, Red, Blackmagic, Canon, etc. Our in-house cameras are cinema-grade cameras and they are incredibly versatile, but if your project requires a different look we have access to a wide array of gear and we will organize a custom video kit that’s best for you.
Are we willing to travel?
Yes. We have a vast network of relationships we’ve built over the years and we will not only travel but we can build a team that’s ready and willing to go anywhere in the world.
What should I expect when hiring mecoclub or a video production company?
Well that all depends on where you’re from and what the goals are. We do have this blog which is helpful resource on the topic.
